Deadline.com is reporting that Disney is talking to Danny Boyle’s “Trance” screenwriter Joe Aherne about yet ANOTHER rendering of the “Beauty and the Beast” myth.

It’s been animated, musicalized. It was on TV in the ’80s and brought back to TV a year or so ago.

Vanessa Hudgens co-starred in a high school updating of the story. “Beastly.”

This story seems beyond played out, especially considering that the acknowledged masterpiece on the subject was made by Jean Cocteau in 1946.
