Sam Worthington and Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit”) will co-star in a new action piece from director Philip Noyce, “For the Dogs.”

It’s about a young woman touring Italy with her beau, unaware her family’s been murdered, with Worthingon as the agent keeping an eye on her as one last favor to her dead father.

It’s based on an Oren Moverman script of a Kevin Wignall novel, with echoes of “The Ring” cycle (Wagner, not J-horror) and Jane Austen’s “Persuasion.”
