The screenwriter of “Warhorse” has given Elton John’s life a once-over. They’ve brought a director of commercials and music videos on board. And Elton himself is set to produce “Rocketman,” a project which is getting some attention as the wheeling and dealing of Cannes gets underway.
The film, per Variety, will follow EJ from his five year old music prodigy days on into fame. There’s a lot of ground to cover here, with his emergence as a talent in that singer songwriter (in his case, co-songwriter) era of the 70s, chart success well into the ’80s, MTV, coming out as gay. Could be interesting.
