I am doing interviews for a story on “Now You See Me,” the magic caper thriller opening at the end of the month, an ensemble piece starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Caine…and Isla Fisher.
But if you’re cunning like me, see, you notice that Isla has a chewy supporting role in “The Great Gatsby,” and since the interview will be the weekend that movie opens, either she’ll be stuck pouting about it bombing, or exulting in having an overdue hit on her resume.
Lucky for her. Lucky for me, too. I hadn’t read all the way down the cast list of “Gatsby” before setting this up and hadn’t seen that film. So it’s all good.
She’s married to Sacha Baron Cohen and finds her way into all sorts of movies — often comedies. “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” “Wedding Crashers.”
And now that Jesse Eisenberg has clarified how to pronounce her name, I’m all set. Save for questions. Got some good suggestions? Comment below. I used pretty much every lead somebody offered up when I interviewed Eisenberg. Thanks for the help.
