Talking Movies on the Radio: “Elysium,” “Percy,” “Planes” “Millers” and “Blackfish”

740gameIt’s Friday AM, time to rustle up a few thoughts to talk about the week in movies on 740 The Game, Orlando’s Sports Leader.

We’ll talk about all the bad movies opening this week.

“Planes” which is “Turbo” without the snail, “Cars” without…Cars.

“We’re the Millers” which is a comedy that arrives DOA.

“Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters,” which is less awful than those two, but which is so Harry Potter (not that Harry Potter was a font of originality) that even kids will catch on.

Then there’s the one good mainstream film opening, “Elysium.” Similar enough to “District 9” that it bears mentioning, but another thought provoking zeitgeist poking sci-fi thriller from Neill Blomkamp. Quite good.

Enzian has booked the terrific SeaWorld bashing documentary “Blackfish.” Hope 740 The Game doesn’t depend on SeaWorld bucks to stay on the air, because they’re taking a beating today.

745 AM on 740 AM/The Game. Be there.
