Yeah, it looks a bit digitally fake. But the performers make it real. This is awe-inspiring.
Decades after I saw a sci-fi film of the ’60s, I still remember the image of a couple of astronauts floating off with a magnetically-charged nuclear bomb to save a spaceship it was attached to. Cannot recall the title of the film, but the image burned into my head.
And the most chilling murder in “2001” may be the silent one of an astronaut cast away from the ship, his spacesuit punctured. This could be that good.
