Dennis Quaid’s the farmer struggling to hang on to his land, Zac Efron’s the son who wants to race with NASCAR. This one looks to take in the war on family farms by Big Ag, dreams of fathers and sons, the temptations of the sporting life (Heather Graham, playing one more loose woman). “At Any Price” goes into limited release April 26.

I’ll try to watch it, but it might be painful: the themes are pretty close to home. I’m from an ag area where growing up it seemed everyone was “from the land”. Now it is all BTOs (“big time operators”) who were first out of town; now they are out of state; with the biggest machinery and immigrant labor. The locals are all meth and welfare now.
