The reviews, from overseas, mostly (a peculiar Fox releasing strategy), are not good for “Runner, Runner,” a gambling/crime/betrayal thriller starring Ben Affleck as the criminal gambler mastermind in Costa Rica or someplace as Justin Timberlake as the guy who gets close to him, are not good.
But before “Runner Runner” comes out Friday, and gets the socks beaten off it by “Gravity” (a no win proposition, even if “Runner” was an Oscar contender), director Brad Furman’s announcing that next project, a film about body building empire builder (his ads used to fill comic books) Joe Weider. “Bigger,” it’ll be called.
