Zach Galifianakis — talk show co-host (with a fern), hairy hedonist, and in out of Vegas, comic and sage.

Which one will show up when we chat today?

He’s played the madman man-child more times than one can count, but his turn in the Matthew Weiner screen comedy “Are You Here” (Aug. 22) is a nice twist on that type casting. No driving Robert Downey Jr., Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper or anybody else to distraction. He’s a guy who inspires loyalty, compassion, envy and deep thoughts.

In the movie, at least.

    Would he ever consider doing a Tru Calling movie, if it followed the same Kickstarter path that Veronica Mars did?
