The New Big Screen “Peanuts,” sentimental, or cynical?

Unlike “Mr Peabody & Sherman,” the new “Peanuts” adaptation seems to be hewing closer to its TV roots — same Vince Guaraldi music, same SFX for Snoopy’s voice.
But what’s the story, and seriously, how good can it be? Every “Peanuts” movie that stretched the comic strip form longer than a 22 minute or so TV special was a groaner.
And it’s in 3D, why exactly? Money money money.
It’s due out next year, and Blue Sky (“Rio,” “Ice Age”) is the producing studio.
