Disney’s biggest animated hit of this past year — passing Disney Pixar’s “Monsters University” — is “Frozen,” which will have hit the $300 million mark by Sunday if Friday’s numbers predict the whole weekend. Maybe $22-24 million, according to Deadline.
“Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones” is doing OK, but its out of season release (Jan. 10 would have made a difference) and bad weather over much of the country will keep the take down below $20 million.
“Smaug” is losing screens and fell behind “Wolf of Wall Street”, which took third place.
