Box Office: Everything is “Awesome.” Well, “The Lego Movie” still is

“The Lego Movie” is doing another $50 million this weekend, based on Friday’s numbers.

Among the remakes opening before this President’s Day weekend, “About Last Night…” is the one cleaning up — $34.5 million, at this rate.

“Robocop” isn’t even outperforming “The Monuments Men” on its second week. “Monuments” isn’t losing ANY of its opening week momentum, another $22 million+. That’s a win, and a real statement on older audiences’ buying power and the result of endless promotion by Damon and Bill Murray.

“Robocop” just under that, “Endless Love” at about $20.

“Winter’s Tale” is headed towards $12 million or less. It only cost $40, according to the director. But it doesn’t look to break even in the U.S.
