A huge holiday weekend at the box office for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and Disney’s latest non-Pixar cartoon.
The princess musical “Frozen” will have cleared $92 million by end of business today (Sunday).
“Hunger Games” cleaned up the rest — some $110 million, maybe a little more, by midnight Sunday.
“Black Nativity” edged up as the weekend went on. A piddly $5 million is all it will manage. So much for that “Best Man” bounce. A harder sell, and America doesn’t remember who Langston Hughes was. Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson, not box office. Alas.
“Oldboy” tanked and did not crack the top 15.
