He’s got a reputation for smart, insightful and bitingly funny films that push the boundaries of narrative (“Being John Malkovich,” “Adaptation” “Where the Wild Things Are”).
And his new film, “Her,” is out there as well — the story of a man in the not too distant future who falls in love with a voice and a personality — an operating system. Daring. Playful. He had a hand in “Bad Grandpa,” and was edited out of the final cut (dressed in drag for the film, the dead grandma).
I figure we’ll talk about the film as commentary on our dialed-in/disconnected age, the care that went into the voice casting, his visions of the future.
