Movie Preview: About “Sisu,” I have a question

So the Finns fought Russian invaders early in World War II, and sided with the Germans in besieging Leningrad during their invasion of the USSR.

And this avenging, John Wick-ish Finnish gold miner is killing Germans? Only Germans?

Yes, it looks like the kind of comical carnage that pays off with righteous slaughter and big laughs. But I guess we’ll wait and see about the film’s murky grasp of the geopolitics of 1944 Finland.

“Sisu” is an April release from Lionsgate.
